Welcome to Stowmarket Phoenix Explorer Scout Unit!

Meeting Night: Monday
Timings: 19:30 – 21:30
Meeting Venue: 1st/3rd Stowmarket Scout Group HQ, Milton Road North, Stowmarket.

Although we often choose to meet off site or partake in an off-site activity once a term.

Please do remember we are all volunteers with full time jobs, families etc!

Cost (often referred to as Subs): £7.50 per month or £30 per term.
We prefer that subs are paid by standing order or bank transfer using the details below although we can accept an online card payment for a term (for a 1.9% fee).

We also ask you to complete a Gift Aid declaration (via OSM – see below) so that we can claim vital additional funds to operate.

Online Scout Manager (OSM):

• We utilise a management tool called OSM which allows us to communicate our programme and events to all Parents / Explorers.
• Please keep an eye on your e-mail junk folder as often our e-mails / invites end up there!
• You will need to create a login and password to access but after this you can check the page regularly for programme updates / event invites directly related to your Explorer.
• We often ask for a YES/NO response to an activity invite. Either response is OK and it means that we don’t (or the system doesn’t) chase you!
• Additional payments for activities / events can be paid via transfer as per the cost section above as we don’t utilise OSM payments due to the cost.

Uniform:

An Explorer uniform shirt is required at the very least for our more formal events such as Investitures, St. Georges Day and Remembrance Sunday. These can be purchased online.

We will provide a Phoenix Name Tape, a Stowmarket, a Suffolk and a Membership Badge.

We will provide an Explorer Necker / Scarf at the cost of £5.

There is also an option to purchase a personalised Phoenix ESU branded polo shirt and hoodie. We place an order twice a year with our supplier and you will receive an invite via e-mail.
